Gas Boosters - Maximator Air Driven Gas Pressure Booster Pumps
Maximator Air Driven Gas Boosters are suitable for the oil free compression of both gas and air. Maximator gas boosters are Pneumatic-Driven making them an excellent alternative to electrically driven systems as they can be used in explosion proof areas and with hazardous gases due to there being no heat, flame or risk of spark.
Gas pressure boosters are most commonly used for increasing gas pressures for the following:
- High Pressure Gas Transfer From One Source To Another
- Scavenging (to extract as much gas as possible from a cylinder)
- Cylinder Charging
- Gas Pressure Testing
- Gas Blanketing
- Gas Assist Injection Molding
Maximator gas boosters are most commonly used in high pressure applications utilizing industrial gases such as N2, argon, oxygen, CO2, helium, hydrogen, natural gas, and xenon. Most industrial gases can be compressed to pressures as high as 36,000 psi, however some gases become unstable at higher pressures such as oxygen which should not exceed a maximum pressure of 5,000 psi. Please notify HPT of the gases you will be compressing to ensure that the booster’s seal arrangement is compatible with the gas and to ensure that the gas can be boosted to the required pressure safely.
Please note that if you are powering the booster with either very dry air or nitrogen you are strongly advised to order your booster with a Dry Air Spool.

In conjunction with Maximator’s range of gas pressure boosters, HPT specializes in bundling these intensifiers into compact boot-strap solutions most commonly known as our MTNB series. High Pressure Technologies MTNB packages are light weight and inexpensive solutions for those who are restricted on the overall installation footprints or for those looking for the minimal components needed to have a small but fully functioning system. Our MTNB series are most commonly used with either N2 or O2 but can be used with other gases. The MTNB Nitrogen Booster Packages are capable boosting pressures to as high as 36,000 psi however the Oxygen Booster Packages are limited to a maximum pressure of 5,000 psi. All MTNB packages have the option of being bottle mounted.
High Pressure Technologies commits to providing you with a comprehensive range of Gas Booster Systems. No matter what your applications requirements are, HPT is here to provide you with a turnkey solution for your high pressure demands. Specializing in custom designed systems, High Pressure Technologies also offers a variety of system styles ranging from our boot-strap series (MTNB) used for applications requiring a compact & light weight solution or to the more commonly seen style of mild steel or stainless steel framed and/or enclosed systems (MTIG) designs that come with an engraved logic control panel and which are widely becoming recognized as the industries standardized system of choice.

Industrial Applications of Maximator Gas Pressure Booster Pump.
HPT offers a complete range of Pneumatically Powered Gas Pressure Intensifiers which are commonly refereed to as Gas Boosters. The boosters are sized by their pressure amplification ratios and are categorized as either a “single stage”, “double acting”, “double air head” or a “two-stage” gas booster. The higher the ratio the higher the output
pressure of the booster.
Single Acting boosters only have one gas cylinder. Double Acting boosters have two identical gas cylinders that are plumbed in parallel for a higher output flow. A Double Air Head is the same as a Double Acting except that it also provides double the pressure ratio. For higher compression ratios (e.g. need to boost a low pressure gas source to a output pressure that is much higher) two-stage booster are recommended. Two Stage boosters have two different gas cylinders that are plumbed in series, each with a different ratio. Gas boosters are suitable for transfer and pressurization of a wide range of gases, e.g. Oxygen, Nitrogen, Helium, CO2, Hydrogen, Argon and Breathing Air. Be sure to let HPT know the gas the booster is being used with to ensure that no modifications are needed, that the correct seal package is selected and also to check if any special cleaning service is required.
Air-Driven Gas Boosters are an excellent alternative to electrically driven systems as they can be used in explosion proof areas and with hazardous gases due to there being no heat, risk of sparks or flame. There are thousands of Gas Boosters being used around the world for a variety of applications.
